Why are my German Shepherd's ears runny, red, smelly, and itchy?

First of all earmites at her age- not very common, it's much more likely to be a bacterial or yeast ear infection. the only way to treat it is with a prescription eardrops, you will need to take her to the vet for that.

These signs could be compatible with an otitis (inflammatory or infective most of the times). Often otitis can have an underlying allergic predisposing disease. A check up should be ideally seek to confirm this clinical suspicion and have it treated appropriately. Antibiotics and anti-antiinflammatory ear drops are probably needed. Ear mites are extremely uncommon in pet dogs. This is usually seen in puppies that come from bad conditions or stray dogs. This looks like very severe inflammation and there is likely an infection present. I recommend you have Tiller seen by your vet. They need to look down into the ear with the otoscope to see what is going on.

Skin infection, mites, and allergies are all possibilities. I would encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian again soon. More long term medication may be needed for Sally.
