Do I need to express my dog's anal glands if they aren't impacted?

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Female | spayed

Mini dachshund 9 year old. How often can or should u express animal glands. Glands are not impacted fluid comes out good they just seem to get really full don't really know how often I just keep expressing them.

There's no need to express them unless they become impacted. Signs of impacted anal sacs include licking the anus, scooting on the floor, and constipation. If you see any of those signs in Daisy May, then I would express her anal sacs. Otherwise, they don't need to be expressed, as they are typically expressed when a dog passes feces.
