Could Entederm for ear infection harm my pregnant dog's puppies?

Congrats on the upcoming puppies! She could have a bacterial or yeast infection in her canal. She could also have ear irritation just from allergies and may not need that medicine. I would recommend to have your vet look at her ears to ensure her ear drums are intact as some ear meds can cause neurological problems if given when the ear drum isn't intact. Your vet will also be able to determine the cause of the ear irritation. Poor Buddy! No, if Buddy has mites, they are not harmful to you or your unborn child. It is not very common for dogs to get ear mites, but they do occur. I would be more concerned about a potential bacterial or yeast infection in Buddy's ears, as that is a much more common condition and causes dogs to shake their head and scratch their ears. Often you will see brown/black debris in the ears with an infection as well that can be mistaken for mites. Regardless, I would take Buddy in for an exam with your vet and to get his ears swabbed to determine the underlying cause and to get some medication to put in his ears to resolve the issue.

The lamisil spray is not a good idea especially since she is nursing. She probably has mange (demodex). Follow up with your veterinarian to have the ears evaluated and before starting any medications. Some medications may be harmful to the puppies. Antifungal medications such as lamisil would potentially be harmful.

First of all it is necessary that you have a definitive diagnosis that your dog is indeed suffering from ringworm, so you do not give her medications on suspicion of ringworm. There are quite a few diseases that can look like ringworm, especially bacterial infections. So if your dog is indeed suffering from ringworm your vet will prescribe either a topical treatment (depends on the extent of the ringworm infection) such as an antifungal ointment, or a antifungal bath, and/or also oral medications. Both Itraconazole and Ketoconazole tablets have pregnancy risks, so possibly would not be a good choice to treat ringworm during pregnancy whereas a topical shampoo containing a fungicide may be a suitable choice. I suggest you see your veterinarian with your dog for a proper diagnosis and his recommendation for treatment as he will know best after examining your dog.
