This kind of lump/growth needs to be ideally assessed by your veterinarian to have a definitive and specific answer. Usually there are two ways your vet can do that a part from examining it directly during physical examination. A biopsy can be taken under local or general anesthetic, otherwise a smaller sample through a fine needle can be aspirated (this technique is called FNA= fine needle aspiration). This is a very abnormal looking eye and it appears that your dog has some serious issues with the cornea. The cornea is very cloudy and hazy and the pink lesion looks like a large ulcer on the cornea. This eye is likely chronically dry and lacking in tear production. This eye looks like it is in imminent danger of rupturing. I would recommend that you take your pet to the closest emergency clinic if you are unable to get help from a regular daytime vet right away. Your pet should be seen immediately and it is not a good idea to wait for 7 days. Your pet will likely need multiple prescription eye medications and possibly surgery in order to repair the defect. Please do not try to treat this without a proper diagnosis and proper medication.

Corneal ulcers are usually caused by a trauma to the eye bulb or from contact with substances (chemicals) that are very irritant to the eye. I don' think it is caused by ticks or fleas. Please, take your dog to your local vets for an appointment right away as untreated corneal lesions (regardless of the cause) can easily turn into an infected ulcer, which can be very difficult to treat.

These could include a hypersensitivity reaction to an insect bite, a bacterial infection of the skin, a fungal infection of the skin (like ringworm), an allergic reaction to something in the environment. We can also have some skin tumors appear as ulcerative areas, though these are less common. The safest thing to do is to have your vet examine the area. They may recommend additional testing such as a ringworm culture or skin cytology , or may determine just by appearance what treatment is needed. In the meantime, if she is licking at the area, an e-collar can be placed to discourage this.

That looks like it is quite painful. Your first order of business should be preventing your dog from causing any further harm. Obtain an e-collar or make one at home. You should be able to find a website or video on how to do this. Next step will be applying some antibiotic ointment, preferably one that also contains some steroid to help with inflammation and itchiness. Some lesions like this one may require systemic antibiotics to fight off infection or prevent a worse one from manifesting. If this truly appeared completely overnight, I would qualify this as a rapidly forming lesion that should be seen in person by a vet. The vet will be able to obtain skin samples and cytology in order to get a better idea of what we are truly dealing with. He will be able to offer you more targeted therapy that may ultimately result in a quicker and more effective healing process.

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! Poor Daisy! From your picture, it appears as though Daisy's eye lid is swollen in corner (by her nose). This can be from an infection or an allergic reaction. If she is squinting her eye, keeping it closed, rubbing it, the eye is producing green-yellow discharge I recommend she be seen today. If not make an appointment to have her seen Monday. Without seeing a picture it is difficult to determine what the bump could be. It is possible that your dog may have a cyst or growth under the eye. I would leave it alone and monitor your dogs behavior. If she begins to rub or scratch it, you may want to contact your veterinarian. If it ruptures or bleeds it may need to be removed.
