My dog has wounds and lumps on one side. Is it an emergency?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Male | neutered | 57 lbs

Our Staffordshire terrier has some open wounds and lumps mostly on one side of his face neck and chest, varying in size. Also some lumps on his leg on the same side. Wondering if it is serious? Vet isn't open until tomorrow morning

The symptoms do not sound life threatening. If the wounds are not full thickness and do not appear to be bleeding, you clean the area with peroxide and wait until Monday. If you notice bleeding, swelling or discharge, I would advise you to take him to an emergency veterinary hospital.
