My dog has white worms in stool. Will antibiotics get rid of them?

Those look like they are probably roundworms. She would have gotten them from coming into contact with infective eggs in the soil most likely. (From where another dog pooped and that poop contained roundworm eggs, then your dog was nosing around near where that was (even if there was no obvious poop on the ground, the eggs will stay in the soil). It is not a result of the food. You can get effective roundworm treatment over the counter. Look for a pyrantel product and follow the label instructions. Feed stores will generally carry it. Unless the amoxicillin was prescribed by your veterinarian, you should stop giving it, as it does not work against viruses. If one puppy has roundworms, then all puppies will have roundworms and should be treated with a puppy wormer available from your vet or a petshop. Any wormer which is specified as a puppy wormer should be effective. Puppy wormers are either in tablet or paste form and are given by mouth.

Congrats on your new puppy! I'm wondering if you mean a deworming treatment for intestinal worms. Heartworms aren't treated by antibiotics, it is treated by Immiticide, nor are they seen in the anus. Heartworms reside in the blood vessels around the heart and lungs. You may be seeing roundworms in Alvin's anus, which can happen when a dog is being treated for intestinal worms. He needs at least two deworming treatments given two weeks apart to kill all the worms. If you don't think it's intestinal worms, then I would have him seen by a vet to diagnose what this white string is so he can be treated.

Most accurately though would be to treat the infection based on a culture but it would be acceptable to try to treat with cephalexin if your veterinarian agrees that that is appropriate based on Moti's medical history. Typically tapeworms can be treated with anybody worming medication that contains praziquantel . However this could just be a side effect of the poop sitting out and insects laying eggs on the poop. Deworming should not harm your dog.

No there is not. You will want to have the fecal done to confirm the infection, so that your vet can prescribe an antibiotic as needed, or other treatment options if an infection isn't the cause. Just giving a general antibiotic may not target what is wrong, or may not be the right antibiotic for the specific type of infection.

Those are roundworms which are easily treated with a product against gastrointestinal parasites that you can buy on prescription at your local veterinarian. Hard/swollen nipples cannot be caused by these parasites.
