My dog is weak, not eating or drinking. Does he need a vet now?

I am no sure how long this has been going on for; however these are severe and warrant a vet visit. I would highly recommend taking Gizmo to the vet right away. They need to run some tests to determine what the underlying problem is since just about every condition can cause these symptoms. You can try offering him a small amount of honey (1 tsp) or some canned tuna for now to see if that can give him a little energy; however, he needs to see a vet for further care. Rydor needs to be seen as soon as possible for a thorough exam, bloodwork analysis to diagnose his condition, and medications to help stabilize him. Until you can get him in you can try offering him small amounts of Pedialyte and Ensure using a syringe or small turkey baster. This can help prevent any further dehydration and hopefully provide some small nutritional support for him until he can be seen and properly treated. He could have eaten something he shouldn't have that's causing an obstruction or irritation, he could have been exposed to something toxic that you weren't aware of, there's a number of possibilities. Your vet will do an exam, lab work, possibly x-rays if indicated, and based on these results, your vet will be better able to understand what is going on with your dog and how best to treat him.
