Why is my dog still weak and low energy after recovering from illness?

The vet can be pretty stressful, and it's possible the meds given caused some drowsiness (it would be hard to say without knowing what was given). I would keep an eye on Brinx and let him rest tonight and see how he is doing in the morning. If he is still lethargic in the AM or refuses to eat even a bland meal, letting you vet know is best.

Poor Luna! She may benefit from intravenous fluids. Have you veterinarian check some bloodwork to see if her liver or kidneys were affected. You may also ask your veterinarian if pain medication would be beneficial. Without being able to examine Luna myself, it's difficult to know how best to advise you. It sounds as Izzie is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

With such severe weakness I would recommend an urgent check up by your vet as it could be life threatening and either due to dehydration, fever or a reaction to the medication. Poor girl. Vomiting more than 1-2 times and lethargy are major concerns for an internal illness such as kidney disease, liver disease, pancreatitis or even a viral infection. It is imperative that you take Baby to your local vet for diagnostic testing to determine what her internal illness is so that we know how to best help her. Anything you give her by mouth will likely be vomited back up, so I would not recommend offering her anything but water and getting her to a vet asap. It sounds like your dog is sick. The drooling can be due to nausea, and the lethargy, vomiting, anorexia, and diarrhea could be due to a severe GI illness, eating something rotten, pancreatitis, or a foreign body. I would take your dog into a vet right away for an exam, he sounds quite ill with all these symptoms, and he needs to be medically treated ASAP.
