Hello. It is always best to have your veterinarian examine any eye problem as soon as it is noticed. This can be an infection, irritation, or even the start of an autoimmune condition called Keratoconjunctivitis sicca. It may even be allergy driven. With the right treatment, the eyes can heal very quickly. The wrong or no treatment can let a simple problem blow up into a big one. So while I do use the Vetericyn ophthalmic products in certain conditions, if you have the means to have Sipsey actually examined, this would be the very best course of action. This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, dry eye (also known as KCS), among many other conditions. There is nothing you can do at home. He needs to be evaluated as soon as possible as this is likely serious and his eye health may be in jeopardy. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! VetCo, which is the vaccination services offered at some PetCo's, doesn't treat illnesses or skin conditions. It is a WELLNESS clinic, so they only see healthy pets with out any issues. I recommend seeing a Vet at a hospital or clinic for Mia's skin issues. It is possible that it is a skin infection. I'm afraid the only thing you can get over the counter for a bacterial infection would be a topical spray such as Vetericyn or Nutri-Vet - these products can sometimes be effective for something like a minor, localized skin infection. For anything more serious, you'll need to get prescription antibiotics from your veterinarian. Vetco clinics only do wellness care (vaccines, fecal exams, etc.), not visits for any type of medical problem - so if you think that Gunner has an infection, I would recommend making an appointment with a regular full-service veterinary office in your area for an exam and treatment.
