My dog's eyes are watery two days after shampoo. Is it serious?

It's very likely some shampoo got into her eye, try to gently rinse the eye with running water then try to leave it for a few hours to calm down. if within 4-6 hours you do not see any improvement in the eye condition you should then take her to your vet in order to get it checked and treated, she might need eye drops to reduce the irritation.

Corneal damage is sometimes visibly noticeable by a cloudiness or haziness over the surface of the eye. However, sometimes if the affected area is very small it will not create this appearance. The only way to determine the presence of damage corneal tissue with certainty is with a stain. Staining is placed in the eye and that subjected to a special spectrum of light that checks to see if the stain binds to the damaged portion of the cornea. This is typically a procedure that can be done at any veterinarian.

Poor Harry. Yes, I agree that it could be he got some shampoo in his eye. Keep rinsing them with cold water, and if they are still bothering him in the morning, take him into the vet. Best of luck.

Aww poor guy! It will likely resolve on its own over the next 24 hours. Rinse his eye thoroughly with tap water to make sure residual soap is gone. If it’s not resolved in 24 hours or if it starts to seem like it’s bothering him, take him to your vet. It’s possible there is enough irritation to cause an ulcer on his cornea. (Though not likely.) I'm sorry to hear about your dog's eye. If the redness has resolved somewhat then it is likely from some irritation with the rain and shower, especially if your brother used shampoo. However, please monitor the eyes carefully and if he starts rubbing at his eyes, if the eyes start watering or he is holding them closed then please schedule a visit with your veterinarian. Eye irritation can develop into an ulcer on the cornea and these need to be treated quickly and aggressively.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Soap is very irritating to dog's eyes and can cause superficial damage to the cornea. This is painful, and causes dogs to squint their eye and produce more tears. I recommend trying to flush the eye with eye wash - you can purchase from a pharmacy - 2-3 times per day. If Dobby is still squinting his eye in 16-24 hours, he should be seen by a veterinarian for an eye exam. Depending on the severity of injury, a cone collar may be recommended as well as other topical eye medications. If Dobby's eye seems to improve in the next day, he may be OK. I hope this is helpful! Please consider purchasing a puppy-safe soap that won't be so irritating to Dobby in the future!

I would recommend having Rubble’s eye examined by your vet right away - it sounds like the shampoo could have caused a corneal ulcer. The blue color could be from corneal edema. The vet might want to stain Rubble’s eye to look for an ulcer and can prescribe appropriate drops.
