My dog has watery diarrhea. Could it be stress from house work?

It is possible for stress to be causing diarrhea but unusual for it to last this long. Sunny could have mild inflammation of his colon or even a bacterial infection. Sometimes a few days of a bland diet such as white rice and boiled chicken is helpful but other times antibiotics are needed. If you do a bland diet and the diarrhea resolves then you can slowly re-introduce his normal dog food over a few days. Since the diarrhea has continued beyond 24 hours, I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian. With continued diarrhea, there are often bacterial shifts in the gut that will make matters worse regardless of the initial cause. Make sure to bring in a sample of fresh stool. The doctor will check her for parasites and bacterial over growth. Many times a bland diet can help and then a slow, gradual introduction to the normal food can be done. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% boiled white rice. This should all be plain. It is probably stress colitis. I suggest you give him one dose of Immodium (loperamide) if you can find it there. JUST ONE DOSE - no more; one 2mg tablet. Next, withhold all food for 8 hours to let his intestines rest. Nothing. Water is fine to have available at all times. After 8 hours, you can start feeding him small amounts of his regular food every few hours (instead of one or two larger meals he gets). Finally, if you can, get him a probiotic I would feed him that for the next 2 weeks minimum. It must be one made for dogs. No human products. Hope this helps. If she gets stressed out about being groomed it could be just a stress colitis. If she seems fine otherwise, withhold food for 12-24 hours, but let her have water. At the end of 12-24 hours, give her a very small amount of her regular food. If all goes well, give her a little more 30-45 minutes later, continue this way until she has had her normal meal amount. If the diarrhea continues, or if she starts vomiting, becomes lethargic, refuses food or shows any other adverse symptoms, get her in to see your vet as soon as possible.

If he is otherwise acting normal and doesn't have any unexplained bruising on his body or red blotches on his gums, then this is likely stress colitis. You can try offering some probiotics, if available, to him in the meantime until the storm calms down. It is also likely that the storm itself is causing Melo to stress out.
