The yellow you are seeing is stomach acid, not stomach lining. After spay surgery, you can see vomiting and anorexia; in fact, vomiting is a common post-anesthesia complication. Vomiting once or twice the night after surgery is normal, but if Domino has vomited more than that or the vomiting persists through the night, you need to contact your vet immediately as she will need medication to stop the vomiting.

No, I don't think any vomiting is normal. With all the issues he really should be back at the vet so they can check him. He really should be hospitalized until he is eating normally and holding it down with no vomiting for a few days. If they find no issues he may just need to be on a daily anti-vomiting medication like Cerenia or an antacid like Pepcid.

If your pet has vomited this much in the past 45 minutes I would be very suspicious of a foreign body or a very intense dietary indiscretion (eating something he shouldn't have). Vomiting and diarrhea together is commonly referred to as gastroenteritis. There can be several causes for gastroenteritis including pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites and a foreign body/blockage. Since Jose has been so sick for several days I would recommend taking him to the vet to be evaluated. Your vet may recommend blood work and X-rays to figure out what exactly is going on. I would not recommend giving the antacid st this time since we do not know the cause of the problem. Medicating unnecessarily could cause more harm than good. Best of luck.

It's certainly possible for dogs to have a mild upset stomach for 12-24 hours after an anesthetic episode, but it would be unusual to see this three days later - especially with such severe symptoms. I would recommend having her rechecked by your veterinarian tomorrow morning, or going to the ER tonight if she seems overly distressed or lethargic. It's possible that she could have a stomach ulcer as a result of the Rimadyl (uncommon, but can happen occasionally even with appropriate dosing), or may have some other problem that may or may not be related to her surgery. It sounds like she needs an exam and likely some lab work +/- x-rays to help determine what's going on and see what kind of treatment is needed.

If a pet is vomiting, it is best to withhold all food and medicine for at least 12 hours. Afterwards, a bland diet can be offered in small, frequent amounts. It is never recommended to give human medications to your pet without the advice of your veterinarian. Some medications can be toxic or may complicate any underlying condition. If she can keep the water down, continue with small frequent amounts. No more than a couple tablespoons (20-30 mls) at a time. Have her examined by your veterinarian in the morning. The foods she ate can certainly cause vomiting, but it is best to have serious illness or foreign body ruled out by the vet.

I am a little concerned that Honey is continuing to vomit. I would recommend waiting at least 4-6 hours between meals to give her time to digest her food. If she is not on an antinausea medication, like Cerenia, I would recommend calling your vet and seeing if you can pick some up. If she is on an antinausea medication and is still vomiting, this is very concerning. Hopefully the vomiting will stop on its own but if it doesn't you need to have Honey rechecked.
