My dog threw up a while ago, but now is panting very rapidly constantly and I am wondering if I should take him to the emergency vet. This is quite unusual for him.

Oh no, poor Sporty! Definitely rush him into the ER now. It's very concerning that he's throwing up water soon after he drinks it, vomiting, and panting heavily. He needs veterinary attention now, please take Sporty in to the ER vet.

Poor Major! He could be panting because he has a higher temperature or he may be in pain. The crying could be due to pain as well. It might be best to not wait until morning to have him seen, I think taking him into an ER vet now is a good idea. Best of luck.
