Hi, and thanks for your question. This presentation is likely to be due to a gastritis due to dietary indiscretion. The ey seems normal as far as I can see from the pic. As a first approach, I would suggest to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitely recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, lethargy or inappetence. I’m sorry to hear that Charlie isn’t feeling well! Chronic vomiting is a cause for concern as it may be caused by toxin ingestion, kidney or liver disease, a foreign body, intestinal parasites, and even certain cancers. Charlie’s increased salivation is a very common sign of nausea. I recommend having her seen by a vet as soon as possible to determine what is going on. Vomiting and lethargy together are very concerning and can lead to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance as well as low blood sugar. The swollen eye may or may not have anything to do with the vomiting. He could be having an allergic reaction. He might have eaten something that either disagreed with him or something that has gotten stuck somewhere in his gastrointestinal tract. He could be sore from a hidden injury you are unaware of, he could have been exposed to some sort of toxin or irritant in his environment or this could be early signs of another condition or disease process. Your pet may need IV fluids to help support his/her system and to be fasted at the same time in order to give the gut a rest. Your vet can do an exam, blood work and possibly x-rays to determine the cause of the illness and suggest an effective treatment plan.
