My dog is throwing up and not eating much can depression cause that cause I just lost my chow 3 days ago and I was wondering if she s just depressed

No, this would not be due to depression. This is not specific to any disease, but indicates that something is either directly upsetting her stomach, or generally making her feel nauseous.

If your Chow died due to an infectious disease, then this could definitely be related and would indicate an urgent need for veterinary attention.

In order to discover the cause of this problem you will need to take Indica to a veterinarian for an evaluation. They can help narrow-down the cause of this and provide treatment to at-least make her feel better.

There are many reasons medically for this sudden change. The best recommendation I can make for Ginger is to take her to your veterinarian so he/she can perform a good physical exam and determine the cause of these recent problems. My dog won't eat, has upset stomach, and threw up. What now?

Since last night was Halloween, think about if there's anything she could have eaten that she shouldn't have and take her to the vet ASAP if you realize your chocolate stash or your entire pan of bacon wrapped something or anothers from the potluck is missing. If you can't think of anything she ate, it's generally ok to wait 24 hours to see if she get back on her food naturally. Sometimes something goes wrong in the gut and we don't know why but it resolves quickly. If she's not back to normal in 24 hours, or has any vomiting or diarrhea in the mean time, she needs to go to her vet for evaluation and supportive care. Why is my dog sick after puppies, refusing food, and throwing up?

I don’t think she is depressed. I think she is probably sick. I worry about a uterine infection called a pyometra. It is a pus filled uterus. It doesn’t happen often just after pregnancy, but it can. If this is her problem it is life threatening without surgery. I would encourage you to take her to your local humane society or city shelter as often they will provide low cost or even free spay and neuter. My dog ate bacon grease, now vomiting. Is she sick or grieving?

I'm so sorry for your loss. Since Leela ate mulch with bacon grease, gastrointestinal upset or pancreatitis seem more suspicious to me for causing her vomiting, loss of appetite and less water consumption. At this point, I would start treating her as though she is sick because dogs don't typically vomit while grieving. You can try withholding food for 12-24 hours, then offer her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and white rice for a few days, feeding 1 cup for every 10 pounds of body weight, divided into smaller meals. If her signs improve, you can begin mixing her normal food with the bland diet over another 5-7 days. However, if Leela vomits more, has diarrhea, lethargy or refuses to eat the bland diet, she will need to take a trip to the vet for further evaluation. I hope that she's feeling better soon!

For this reason, I highly recommend that you have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid she is likely becoming dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and also check her hydration status and give her medications to make her feel better. Good luck!

Vomiting and inappetence can occur from many conditions such as foreign body ingestion and obstruction, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. I am concerned that he could be showing signs of an obstruction which is something that requires therapy which sometimes includes surgery. I recommend that you have Jager evaluated by a veterinarian at this point for further assessment and treatment. This will likely require bloodwork and abdominal imaging in terms of diagnostics. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least your veterinarian could start him on medications to make him feel better. In the meantime, keep water available at all times to try to prevent dehydration. Good luck and have a good night!
