My dog is vomiting, lethargic, and doing downward dog. Vet emergency?

Yes, you should take her to your vet for an exam. The downward dog position is probably from some sort of pain or discomfort in her abdomen. The vomiting and not eating also goes along with that. Please take her to a vet as soon as possible.

It is hard to know what exactly is going on however he is displaying some signs of potentially being sick such as labored breathing, lethargy and vomiting. I highly recommend that you have Harley evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to perform a physical examination and start there depending on what they think could be wrong. For example, if his lung sounds appear abnormal, they may proceed with chest X-rays. If Buddy seems off and is whimpering and vomiting, he may have something going on causing him discomfort. Because of his age, I would be suspicious of a viral infection, something he ate that he is having an indiscretion to or a foreign object he ate that is lodged somewhere in his intestines causing problems. Because there are multiple causes and it is difficult to determine what it is for sure, I would have a veterinarian examine Buddy so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. While some dogs are allergic to eggplant, most dogs tolerate it just fine and I suspect this is not necessarily the cause of his symptoms. Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Voldemort evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid he is likely becoming dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and also check his hydration status and give him medications to make him feel better. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Logan! I think Logan needs to be examined by a Vet, if he is worse today then take him to an Emergency Vet. If he is the same maybe consider taking him as soon as your Vet opens tomorrow. I worry that he may have a foreign body and may require surgery to have it removed. It is always better to do this sooner than later to prevent complications like bowel resection or perforation of the bowel. Other possible causes are: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, toxin ingestion, Addison's disease, food allergy/intolerance, pancreatitis. The Vet, after examining Logan, will likely want to take belly X-rays and do blood work. I hope this helps and I wish Logan a speedy recovery!

I’m sorry to hear Wrigley isn’t feeling well. Dogs often do the downward dog stance when their abdomen is painful, especially with pancreatitis. If you have only had him a week many shelters have an agreement for a short time that they will care for health concerns in that time frame. Yes, i would definitely be taking odie in as soon as possible. It is likely he is dehydrated and nauseous and may need intravenous fluids alongside diagnosis. Obstruction from swallowing foreign bodies and severe gastroenteritis or pancreatitis would be high on the list of suspicions
