My dog has diarrhea, vomiting, moaning for 2 days. What to do?

I am very sorry to hear that Emma is experiencing these problems, I am sure it is very unsettling for you both. Unfortunately, with a history of vomiting and diarrhoea, and an inability to keep food down for 2 days, I advise you take Emma in to see her vet. There are a number of potentially very serious causes of such clinical signs, including pancreatistis and ingestion of a toxin or poison. Your vet will be able to perform a physical exam and run diagnostic tests such as bloodwork to determine the cause of Emma's vomiting and diarrhoea. In the meantime you can continue the boiled chicken breast and white rice diet and provide plenty of fresh water. I hope that answer was helpful and more importantly that Emma feels better soon. 4 days is very long for a dog to have vomiting and diarrhea. I recommend that Alexa see a vet as soon as possible. Potential causes for her illness include dietary intolerance, dietary indiscretion, food allergy, intestinal parasites, GI blockage, gastroenteritis, bacterial or viral infection, IBD, pancreatitis, among others. Your vet may recommend abdominal x-rays, bloodwork, or an intestinal parasite screen to help diagnose her ailment and create an appropriate treatment plan.

If Bruno has had diarrhea and decrease appetite for 3 days I would recommend a visit to the vet. A young pup may have parasites, viral disease or a foreign body that can cause diarrhea. But at his age he can become debilitated quickly when sick so a vet visit at this point is probably a good idea. I hope he recovers quickly.

Hi there. Dogs can certainly get a minor upset stomach due to an infection or something they ate, but this should normally resolve within 24 hours. Since Brutus has been sick for three days now, I would definitely recommend having him seen, as this may be a more serious problem. He may have a GI problem such as pancreatitis or a foreign body in his intestines, a systemic illness like liver or kidney disease, or may have ingested something toxic. Your veterinarian can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help diagnose the problem and get him started on appropriate treatment.

Given Boomer's older age and the acute onset of the vomiting/diarrhea, I would have him seen sooner rather than later by a veterinarian. Boomer could just have an upset stomach, but he also could have a foreign body, an infection or even a tumor causing these signs. Your vet will perform a full physical exam and determine if any additional diagnostic testing is needed (bloodwork, xrays ) and what treatments he made need. Good luck!

Mikkie sounds pretty sick, and he could have a severe GI illness. He's had diarrhea for a week now, and with vomiting starting as well, that tells me he is getting worse. You cannot treat this at home, you have to take him into a vet immediately.

Poor Boo Boo sounds very ill! He could be suffering from a severe GI illness, could have a foreign body, or could have parvovirus if he isn't fully vaccinated. It's quite serious he has been this sick for four to five days, and whenever a dog shows these symptoms for more than 24 hours, the dog has to see a vet immediately. Boo Boo needs to be taken to a vet now so his symptoms can be diagnosed and treated. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies.
