My chihuahua is vomiting brown liquid after tramadol & ibuprofen.

Motrin can be very toxic to the kidneys and gastrointestinal tract in dogs, but the toxicity is dose dependent. At 25 mg/kg we can see stomach and intestinal ulcers and even perforations. At >100 mg/kg the medication can cause severe kidney failure. 25 mg/kg for Susie would be 477 mg, and that would mean she would need to lick over 2 tsp of the Motrin off the floor to ingest a toxic dose. It may be that something else is causing her vomiting and decrease in appetite, and I would recommend having her seen by a veterinarian. If you think Susie may have ingested over 2 tsp I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian ASAP. If she is otherwise healthy it may be okay to wait until you are off work.

I am not sure which OTC pain and anti-inflammatory medication you used but some of them can be toxic to dogs. Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, and Naproxen can cause liver/kidney problems when used in dogs. Aspirin can be used but it can cause gastric ulcers. She really should be examined by your vet to determine the cause, especially since she has been feeling bad for over a day. Your vet can run labwork, if needed, and prescribe medications to help treat. She may need a gateointestinal protectant or other medications. Hope she feels better soon.

Tramadol can cause some GI upset, however if he is off the meds and still appearing in pain or ill it may indicate something else going on. You can try a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice to see if it settles his stomach. However, if he is actively vomiting, or the site of the neuter appears very red or swollen, then having him rechecked by your vet is best to rule out any problems.

Motrin can lead to toxicity in dogs so I recommend you contact the pet poison helpline at the link below for further direction, and they can let you know if Lee needs to be seen by a vet or not for further treatment. That class of medicines have potential to cause a GI ulcers which can cause vomiting and dark stool (digested blood) Taking him to the vet is the best option sonthey can also run blood work to check the kidneys as that can also be a side effect of that class of medicine. They have several different components to help with ulcers and preventing further damage. Feedings a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice is best until you can take him in

He should be fine but all animals can have a different reaction to medications so just monitor him closely for the next 4-6 hours. Too much tramadol can cause sedation or agitation, wobbliness, disorientation, vomiting, tremors and possibly seizures. He ingested the very top end of the dosage he could have for his weight. I suspect he will just be very sleepy.

Poor Bayzel. Vomiting while on antibiotics could be an adverse effect of the medication, especially if he was just started on it less than 24 hrs ago. Notify your vet and another antibiotic can be tried. If he wasn't just started on the medication, then yes the chicken could have upset his stomach, especially if he isn't used to it and/or it had spices on it that just didn't agree with him. Offer him fresh, plain boiled chicken breast and white rice for the next few feedings and also some Pedialyte (non-flavored) diluted 50:50 with water to help keep him hydrated after so many bouts of vomiting. If he is still vomiting up water and food by tomorrow, then its best to take him to your vet for further care. These don't sound like signs that are related to his heart disease at the moment.
