My dog vomited blood, is weak, and not eating. Should I go to the vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | 10 months and 25 days old

My dog vomitted a blood just today. He have no appetite and weak for 3 days from now. Yesterday we went to the vet for the check up and the doctor found out my dog has ear infection(insecects) and after that the doctor gave us guidelines on what to do with our dog. We bought medicines(Cefavet 50 ans Carpropain) and ear cleansers( Oti derm Ultra vet) but nothing changed for 2 days my dogs illness getting worse help me please

I am sorry Chico is not feeling well. I would recommend going back to the veterinarian. If he vomited blood it may be an upset stomach (possible ulcer) but it could be more. I typically recommend full blood work and X-rays be performed. If nothing shows up on either of those there is medication to help coat their stomach just in case they have an ulcer.

I would rush Chico into a vet immediately. He sounds extremely sick if he won't eat, can barely stand, hasn't pooped for a week, and was vomiting. There is nothing you can do for him at home, this is a medical emergency and he needs veterinary attention now. Please take him to a vet ASAP.

It is very concerning that Chico is acting like this. If he really isn't doing well then I would recommend an emergency hospital. There are some in Manhattan and some in NJ that you can travel too. If he is doing well and feel that it is not an emergency then I would call your veterinarian in the morning to get him seen. With the symptoms, you described it is hard to say if it is a true emergency vs something that can wait, sometimes it is better to be safer and head to a hospital. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Chico. He sounds quite ill for a young puppy. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian as it has been several days and he is not improving. I'm concerned that he is dehydrated at this point. He will likely require fecal testing, medication and possibly some fluids to rehydrate him. In the meantime, encourage him to eat and drink small frequent amounts. I hope this information helps!

It sounds as Choco is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet URGENTLY, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

I am sorry Chico is sick. Chocolate at high doses can cause sever gastric upset. I am concerned that the continued vomiting will cause dehydration and issues with kidney function. I would recommend taking Chico to the vet for medications to stop the vomiting and rehydrate him. Also I would start an over the counter anti acid to help calm down his stomach. You can try a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice once his vomiting has stopped. I hope that helps and Chico feels better soon

My dog is vomiting bile, not eating, and has bloody urine and poop?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I noticed in one of those pictures that his stool is really diarrhea and is black (which usually means a sign of bleeding). Vomiting and diarrhea can occur secondary to conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, dietary indiscretion, parasites, among other possibilities. In addition, black stools can be indicative of bleeding into the small intestine or stomach which can happen secondary to an ulcer for instance. Bloody urine can be the result of an infection, stones, tumors, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. At the very least they can start him on medications to make him feel better and check his hydration status. In the meantime, keep water available at all times to try to prevent dehydration. My dog keeps vomiting blood and has bloody stool. What to do?

Aw poor Jacky Gill! I'm very concerned about the blood in the vomit as this can indicate serve Gastrointestinal inflammation or ulcer formation. Jacky should see a veterinarian right away as he likely needs prescription medication to stop the vomiting and diarrhea. He may need fluids to help rehydrate him. It may also be a good idea to have X-rays done to ensure there is no intestinal blockage. Once he has received medical care a bland diet of boiled chicken and sweet potato or rice may also help him recover. My dog won't eat, vomits, and vet found nothing. What should I do?

I am so very sorry to hear about your dog. This must be very stressful. If your vet has found nothing on x-ray or bloodwork and Chiquis is not improving it sounds like it is time for more advanced diagnostics, such as endoscopy or ultrasound, or referral to an internist. This vomiting is very concerning and we need additional testing to determine why it is happening.
