Why did my dog vomit and shake after eating Kong peanut butter?

Poor little guy! Before doing anything else, check the ingredient list on your peanut butter to check for xylitol. Xylitol is highly toxic to dogs, causing sudden drops in blood sugar that can lead to seizures, liver failure, and even death in severe cases. If xylitol is listed on the ingredients, take your dog to an ER vet immediately. However, if xylitol is not a concern, it certainly sounds as if your puppy has some stomach upset. This could be a result of gastroenteritis from eating too much of a fatty food, or he may be developing pancreatitis. Definitely stop feeding him for the next 12-24 hours. When you begin feeding him again, offer a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and white rice for the next few days before slowly transitioning back to his normal diet. If he continues vomiting today, he should be seen by a vet to assess his hydration and administer supportive care (fluids, anti-nausea medication, etc.). I hope he feels better soon!

Coco may be stressed from the visit or having a mild reaction to the vaccinations. You can try to offer her a small meal of boiled chicken and sweet potato or rice to see if this settles her stomach. Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. Shaking can be a sign of discomfort. There is no way of treating this at home without knowing what is actually going on. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Keeko evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid he is likely becoming dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and also check his hydration status and give him medications to make him feel better. Good luck!

Poor Roxy! I'm concerned that something she ingested could have been toxic or caused something severe like an intestinal obstruction or pancreatitis. I recommend having Roxy examined by a veterinarian right away. She may need X-rays or blood work to ensure she does not need surgery or extensive treatment. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Teddy! Teddy is shaking after he vomits and has diarrhea (?) is because he either doesn't feel good or is scared. People and babies do the same thing after they vomit. The best thing is to find out why the vomiting is happening if it is often. If it isn't often and after the vomit episode Teddy is fine then the shaking is a normal part of vomiting. Causes of vomiting and diarrhea are: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections. ate something gross outside that is upsetting his stomach, foreign body ingestion (something is stuck and needs surgery), toxin ingestion or food allergy or sensitivity. If this the vomiting is abnormal and/or a new thing and it continues I recommend taking Teddy to the Vet for an exam. I hope this helps and I wish you and Teddy the best!

However, if this continues, she should be evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment.
