Why is my Chihuahua shaking, drooling, vomiting after eating old food?

Hello, sorry to hear about Roxy. I would recommend having her evaluated if her clinical sings persist, especially if she is a dog that likes to chew toys, sticks, or get into the trash. Our biggest concern is that she may have a foreign object she may have swallowed that is stuck in her stomach or intestines. Other causes in dogs her age include dietary indiscretions or infections. It sounds as Roxi is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

If it was just one time, I wouldn't be too concerned about the vomit. If something isn't sitting well in their stomach you may notice some undigested food. If Roxy continues to vomit or becomes lethargic then I recommend taking her to a veterinarian to have her evaluated. I am sorry to hear about Roxie! It sounds like perhaps the spicy jerky didn't agree with her stomach! I see your question is from 13 hours ago. If Roxie is still vomiting, then I would take her in to your vet. In the future, if she starts vomiting then it is recommended to remove food and water so she takes in nothing orally for 6 to 8 hours. If she continues to vomit despite taking nothing in, time to head to the vet. If she stops vomiting then you can slowly reintroduce small amounts of water at first, then bland food like cooked white rice and boiled shredded chicken breast in small amounts. If vomiting restarts, then she needs to see the vet. If at any point she seemed painful, very lethargic, or vomits blood then these would also be reasons to seek veterinary care ASAP.

I am sorry Roxy is not feeling well. I would recommend taking Roxy to a veterinarian. She could have easily developed pancreatitis but she may just have a intestinal upset from it.
