I have a four year old papillon with a uti infection. Can I bring in a sample of her urine so I can start her on antibiotics? Also how muc is the test and the medication going to cost me?

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to hear about Dakota. In most instances, I would say this is not possible because most laboratories require an account when submitting samples and they have to be a veterinary laboratory, not a human lab. It is possible that you could collect a midstream sample, refrigerate it, and then take it chilled to one of your state veterinary diagnostic labs. Not sure where you live but that might be worth looking in to. Typically, those labs are cheaper and you can submit and pay for the sample if you live close to one. Good luck with Dakota.
