Why is my dog twitching and has mouth sores? Should I see a vet?

Centralized muscle spasms, could indicate a neurological condition that can vary in severity, so it is hard to tell without examining him myself and running the necessary testing. However, if he seems stable otherwise I wouldn't worry too much. Especially if the spasm seems to only affect his jaw. The most important thing is to monitor him for overt signs of a serious problem and to have him evaluated by your local veterinarian soon for a full neurological work-up. I would guess Lola could have a bacterial infection around her mouth. Trauma could also cause similar lesions. If she seems itchy it is possible that she has an infection secondary to allergies. A bacterial skin infection is often treated with oral antibiotics so I would recommend making an appointment to have your vet take a look.

It is possible that Bear has a bacterial infection, these are usually fairly benign and self limiting. Another possibility is that Bear is experiencing sensitivity or an allergy to something in his environment leading to this lesion. Some dogs are very sensitive to certain types of food bowls or toys, and can develop these lesion secondary to this. I would recommend having Bear evaluated by your veterinarian so that they can examine the lesion and Bear's mouth. They can discuss the need for additional diagnostics such as an impression smear or gentle sampling of the area.
