Why is my dog trembling, lethargic, and unable to jump today?

I'm sorry to hear that Charlie isn't feeling well. His behavior certainly doesn't normal for him. I would recommend that he sees his veterinarian. It is not uncommon for small breed dogs to experience back or neck pain. The pain can be intense. Sign in the dog are usually a reluctance to jump on furniture, refusal to do stairs, shaking and hesitant to move. In worst case scenarios, some dogs was will experience neurologic problems such as weakness or paralysis of the limbs. Charlie will need to see his veterinarian to know if this is what is causing his symptoms verses something else. In the meantime, keep him quiet and encourage him to eat and drink. Hello. Unfortunately it is very difficult to try & narrow down what might be ailing Rocket. Lethargy, shaking & even limping could indicate a fever or pain anywhere in his body. If you could obtain a rectal temperature, anything over 103F would be concerning & Rocket should be seen by a veterinarian quickly. If his temp is normal ( around 101.5 F ), then you might see how he does over the next 12-24 hours. If he not improving, please have him seen by your veterinarian. It could still be pain associated with a leg even if nothing seems wrong with them. I recommend that you have Pari evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics include radiographs. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least they can prescribe pain control medications to make Pari feel better. In the meantime, reduce her activity as much as possible as that in itself can make a big difference. Good luck and have a good day!

If Molly is limping, then she is in pain and she does need to see a vet for pain medication. Unfortunately there are no OTC pain medications for dogs. Many human ones are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. You are doing the right thing by encouraging your parents to take her to the vet, it's the right place for her to go with her problem. I would keep her from jumping off high places to prevent her from causing herself more pain. I would have her seen by a vet in the next couple of days. I hope this helps!

She could be experiencing pain in her back or hindlimbs that is limiting her mobility. Her veterinarian will carefully examine her and try to detect any sore areas.
