Why is my 12-year-old Yorkie tired with a strange lump on his side?

Poor Charlie! There are several things that can cause him to be lethargic and not eat like kidney or liver disease, an infection, a tumor/cancer, general GI upset, parasites, and much more. Since he has an extensive medical history and he isn't eating well and lethargic, I would strongly recommend to have your vet take a look at him asap. Your vet will be able to do a fecal, blood work and even x-rays if needed. They will be able to recommend the best treatment plan for him to help him feel better! I hope this helps!

The knots just above his ball area sounds like his normal anatomy, this is likely his bulbourethral glands. However the lethargy is of some concern, so a proper physical exam by your vet would be the next best step. They will check him from head to toe for any abnormalities, including any abnormal heart rate, breathing rate or temperature (which would indicate infection). Hello! Those lesions could be caused by an infection like bacteria or even fungus as well as allergies. Usually though mild infections and allergies don't cause dogs to be depressed/act abnormally. If his behavior continues, he has any vomiting, or his food/water intake goes down further I recommend having your veterinarian do an exam as those changes could be caused by something more serious, like liver issues, anemia, an infection or even cancer.

This is a quite generic but concerning sign. Differentials are many, from gastrointestinal or urinary tract diseases (infection/inflammations often dietary related) to any disease that can spread systemically (causing lethargy and hyperthermia for example) like infection, and anything that can cause pain/discomfort. The approach must be logic. A check up is needed if lethargy lasts for more than 24hours. I would be worried about an injury as the area is very bruised and the lump is possibly a herniation. It is never recommended to medicate a pet without the advice of your veterinarian. Panadol (paracetamol) can be toxic to dogs. It can cause liver and kidney damage. A thorough exam and blood work by your veterinarian is recommended. This may diagnose the cause of Bara's symptoms as well as assess liver and kidney function.

This appears to be a pustule, which indicates a skin infection. The skin appears rather red, which indicates that something must be irritating the skin. Often, a skin infection starts due to some sort of irritation. The common causes of skin irritation are allergies and external parasites (fleas, mites, lice). However, this does not explain him acting lethargic or sick. This would be my primary concern and could be due to many different things. I think it's best if you can take Akita to get examined by the vet sometime soon. The lethargy can indicate moderate to severe conditions, so it's best if you can take him within the next 24 hours to keep him from getting worse.
