How to help a pet covered in ticks and fleas with bleeding skin?

I would recommend using a flea and tick preventative such as Frontline, Nexgard or Bravecto. He will likely need a shampoo to help soothe his skin after the ticks die. I would recommend first a good flea and tick prevention. You can use the oral medication or even the seresto collar. Even if she doesn't go outside she can still get fleas. For her skin I would bring her to a veterinarian. She will most likely need medication to stop licking and scratching and antibiotics to heal her infection. She may also be prescribed a shampoo that is medicated that you can't get over the counter. There are great medications now that help with itching also. The blood is probably from the dead fleas. I would not be overly worried about it. You just really need to get him on a high quality prescription flea medication. There is really no excuse for a flea infestation when there are so many good products on the market. Poor guy must be miserable...... You will have to buy a treatment for ticks such as Frontlie spot on for example, you will need to apply the treatment on the back of the neck and wait about 24 hours until the ticks fall from her. you can also remove them manually with the aid of a tick remover but you still need to apply a treatment against ticks to protect her.

I would recommend the Seresto collar or the oral flea and tick preventatives like Nexgard, Simparica and Bravecto. Vinegar does not kill any species of tick. In my experience the natural products do not work for ticks or fleas and the risk of the diseases they transmit is greater than the use of non-natural products. I'm sorry to hear that your dog is having so much trouble! Fleas can cause a tremendous amount of discomfort, especially if he has an allergy to them. You can get a tablet called Capstar over the counter that will kill any fleas on your dog every effectively within 30-60 minutes, so this would help to give him some immediate relief. It only lasts for 24 hours, so you will need to start him on a longer-lasting medication as well to prevent them from coming back - the most effective products are oral medications like Bravecto or Nexgard, which you can get from your vet. Depending on how severe his skin problems are, he may also need prescription medication such as an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medication to treat the bleeding sores - for this, he would need to have a vet exam. I understand that costs are a concern, but this should not be an expensive visit at all - just the exam fee, and you can request written prescriptions for the medication to be filled at a human pharmacy. The medications themselves are very inexpensive.
