My dog has tear stains. What causes them and how can I clean them?

Hi my pup is having issues with tear stains. Any advice?

I do not recommend using hydrogen peroxide near the eyes, as it could cause irritation if it gets in the eyes. Since Rex is a French bulldog, he will need his facial folds and tail fold wiped clean a couple of times a day long term to help prevent irritation. Make sure any wipes you use are not used directly on the eyes themselves, as this can lead to irritation. Use them just on the skin under the eyes. Contact your veterinarian, as they may recommend Optixcare wipes as a safe and gentle option for cleaning under the eyes.
