Why is my dog's vulva swollen, red, and she has lice and hair loss?

Hello I have a few questions 1. Why our dog have so many wounds in her body and many lice and her hair loses? 2. Why my dog vahina is swollen as well as her breasts and it is color Red?? What should we do? HELP ME TO CURE MY DOG WITH YOUR HELP IT WILL BE VERY IMPORTANT FOR ME BEFORE ITS TOO LATE

I would recommend that you have Chowper examined by a veterinarian. It is hard to see the pictures since they are a little dark and blurry. I am seeing areas of hair loss, and possibly bruising in the third picture. A common cause of hair loss in young dogs is demodectic mange. This would require treatment with a veterinarian. Other possible causes for hair loss include fleas, lice, infections (bacterial or yeast), ringworm, allergies, among others. A vet can examine the skin and determine what is the cause so that she can be started on the best treatment.

A swollen vulva with red discharge can be caused by a dog being in heat or in labor. If her mammary glands are enlarged, then it is possible that she is pregnant, since this does not normally happen in dogs in heat. While it is not common in younger dogs, it is still possible that she has an infection in her uterus (called a pyometra), which would require emergency vet care.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It can take a bit for the vulva and mammary glands to decrease from the hormones. She could also be experiencing a false pregnancy, which is a hormonal imbalance that can cause pregnancy symptoms: swollen mammary glands, milk development, nesting behavior, anxiety, carrying stuffed animals around. It usually resolves in 2-3 months. Causes for the area of hair loss are: trauma/injury/abrasion, skin infection, ring worm, demodex. I would put her on one of the oral flea and tick medications: Nexgard, Bravecto, or Simparica. All 3 also kill demodex as well. If the spot grows or doesn't resolve then I would have her seen. My dog's vulva is red and swollen after grooming. What could it be?

This looks like a mass adjacent to the vulva, and it is probably not related to the recent grooming. This could be a benign mass like a lipoma or could be something more serious, and I would recommend taking her to your veterinarian to have it examined. They may want to take a small sample using a needle. Another possibility would be a hernia, although this is a little less likely based on your picture, but a veterinarian would probably be able to determine whether or not a hernia is possible based on an exam.

My dog has itchy, oozing skin, hair loss, and swollen private areas.

Oh dear, poor Sadie! Her skin issues coupled with the redness and swelling of her anus and vulva could be due to underlying allergies to fleas, food or the environment. I see that she has not been spayed, so it is also possible that her vulva is red and swollen if she is going into heat. The anus can be red and irritated from parasites or anal gland issues, as well. At this point, I recommend assuring that Sadie is receiving a high quality flea preventative (such as Nexgard, Bravecto or K9 Advantix II). You can try bathing her in a gentle oatmeal shampoo or antimicrobial shampoo, but she will likely need to go to her vet for an exam. The vet will be able to assess her changes and determine if a skin infection is present as a result of her ongoing itching. She may need to have a course of antibiotics and anti-itch medications to help resolve this issue. I hope that all goes well!

Is a skin growth below my dog's vulva normal? What could it be?

Based on the photos you provided, it appears as though Kahlua may have a skin infection with the red bumps on the abdomen and near her vulva. I would recommend having her examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate treatment can be recommended. She will likely need an oral antibiotic as well as topical therapy to treat this. My Chihuahua's vulva is swollen with a hole after nursing. Infected?

I would be concerned she may have an infection causing her pain and discomfort hence the licking and self trauma. It is very early for her to be back in a true heat (although not impossible) and I recommend a full vet check as soon as possible to determine exactly what is going on

I am sorry to hear about your dog! These look like they could be pustules, or small spots of bacterial infection, perhaps from some minor trauma to the skin during mating which then became infected with bacteria. I would recommend having your vet examine the area, as they may want to prescribe antibiotics to treat the infection.

Why does my dog's vulva look sore and swollen? Is it an infection?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This looks like a focal infection. You can try to use chlorhexidine containing pads (such as the Douxo chlorhexidine 3% PS pads) to clean the are twice daily for 7 days. You may find these online or at your local pet store. If there is no improvement or in the meantime this appears to be getting worse, have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good night!
