I am sorry Marley is uncomfortable! I agree that his pads look ok. A swollen, sore paw can be caused by many things including an injury or fracture, an insect bite or sting, or an infection. I would keep him quiet tonight and have him seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. It is ok to wait for tomorrow as long as the swelling is not progressing and Marley is otherwise behaving normally. If there is a wound or sting soaking that paw in warm water and Epsom salts may help. I hope Marley is feeling better very soon.
