Dog scratched by cat, face and throat swollen. Is a vet visit urgent?

I am sorry to hear about Stitch. Based on your description I would recommend having her examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible. I would be concerned about possible head trauma/brain injury, injury to the eyes which can be very delicate and if left untreated can result in permanent damage/loss of vision. It also sounds like she has significant swelling of the face. This is likely very painful even if your cat is not showing obvious pain (cats are very good at hiding pain) imagine if you had been mauled as your cat had. The vet can prescribe pain medication to help Stitch feel more comfortable, antibiotics if needed to prevent infection, and may also booster Stitch's rabies vaccine if it has not been done recently and this dog is of unknown vaccine status.

It is never wrong to have something checked out to be on the safe side. That said, if the scab is superficial and there is now swelling around it then I think it would be ok to monitor for 24 hours or so for any changes. I am sorry to hear that Lestat is hurt and painful. Bite wounds almost always become infected, and by your description it sounds like he has an infection. I do think it wound be a wise idea to have him evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. My concern in waiting would be the infection worsening to the point of him becoming septic. It is also the end of the week and if you aren’t seen tomorrow you may have to be seen an an emergency facility which is typically more expensive than a general day practice. No need to rush Sheru into a vet now. I would gently clean his wound with warm water and antiseptic soap. Keep the wound clean and dry, and monitor it for signs of infection. If you see redness, swelling, warmth to the touch, or pus, then it is infected and he will need to see the vet for antibiotics to treat it. I hope this helps!

I am sorry to hear about Clover. It definitely sounds like he needs to go to the veterinarian for this issue, especially since the swelling is worsening. We would worry about things like abscesses due to a wound, infected/abscessed tooth roots, and more. Poor Bow! If she was bitten in the face and throat, she could have developed an abscess (a local pocket of infection) from the bites. This commonly happens from dog bites. It's quite serious that these areas have swollen up so much they look like a big balloon, and it could negatively affect her breathing. She absolutely has to see a vet today for this issue so she can be treated. Please bring her into a vet now. As for the fighting, if they both are not spayed, it could be related to hormones. This most certainly could be an infection, especially if it has been a week since the scratch and it looks like this. If it is bothering Tigre, she may be rubbing her nose on the floor making it much worse.
