My pitbull has a swollen eye, cold nose, and is throwing up. What's wrong?

Place an e-collar (cone) on him to prevent rubbing or pawing. A cool compress may decrease swelling. Ideally, he should be examined by your veterinarian to diagnose and treat any trauma to the eye to prevent permanent damage or loss of vision. This may be from an allergic reaction from a bite or sting or something in the environment. In severe cases, vomiting and lethargy can occur and be related. However being a puppy, he does need to be seen by a vet to make sure there is nothing else going on such as a viral infection that is causing the vomiting and lethargy, parvo. Your vet can examine him and check for parvo if needed and determine if it is all a reaction or something else

This is probably an allergic reaction due to an insect bite or a plant outside. those reactions tend to resolve within 48 hours without treatment. if the swelling becomes too large or if Bo is lethargic, take him to the vet in order to get an antihistamine injection.

It could be Ace has injured his face, is suffering from an allergic reaction, or it could be he has a severe dental problem causing the swelling. The concern with swelling on the face and throat is that it could become so large that it obstructs breathing, leading to respiratory distress. I'm sorry to hear that Loin isn't feeling well. Vomiting and diarrhea in a young dog can be caused by a variety of conditions, but the most common include parvovirus (unlikely if he has been fully vaccinated), gastroenteritis (stomach upset) from eating different foods, table scraps or treats, intestinal parasites, or another GI virus. Since his diarrhea looks quite liquid with possible blood in it (difficult to tell from the picture), I recommend taking Loin to his vet for evaluation. The vet will be able to run a test for parvovirus, stool sample to check for parasites, and any other indicated testing to get to the bottom of this issue. If Loin is dehydrated, he may need IV fluids. Until you can get to the vet, withhold food for 12-24 hours. After that time, talk to Loin's vet about starting him on a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and white rice for a few days before gradually transitioning back to his normal dog food over another 5-7 days. I hate to hear that Kanny is uncomfortable. It sounds like she is having some type of allergic reaction. The facial swelling along with what may be hives indicate that she should go to the veterinarians office for diphenhydramine and dexamethasone injections. They will likely also put her on an over-the-counter antihistamine and potentially steroid tablets for a few days. if what you were describing as abscesses appear to be infected, she will likely also go on an antibiotic. Get her in right away before she scratches more sores on her body. In the meantime, a cool water bath may help to temporarily decrease the itch but ultimately she will likely need medications. Hi, and thanks for your question. This presentation is likely to be due to a gastritis due to dietary indiscretion. The ey seems normal as far as I can see from the pic. As a first approach, I would suggest to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitely recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, lethargy or inappetence.
