My dog has a swollen, bleeding paw lump, no puncture. Vet needed?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Blue Heeler | Male | unneutered | 30 lbs

My dog was outside and all of a sudden started messing with his paw. He has a swollen lump in between his toes and there was a little blood. I cleaned it but i dont see any puncture. Should I go to the vet?

It sounds like Ruger could have traumatized his paw or may have an infection or a cyst there. It's not an emergency but I'd make an appointment to see your vet as sometimes they need systemic medications to get it to heal, since it's difficult to put topical medication on the paw.
