My dog has swelling, lumps, and bite marks after being found outside?

This looks like it could be a growth and it's clearly bothering him if he's biting at it. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed. Give his vet a call to make him an appointment.

Any lumps/bumps that you notice on your dog should be checked out by your vet. Lumps are usually one of these things: * abscess (infection) * cyst * tumor/cancer There is no way I can tell you what it is just by looking at a photo but I have a suspicion these are cysts. That being said, usually they don't cause the dog any issues so that fact that he is biting at his tail makes me think he needs to see your vet.

I recommend that you have Brownie evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible for further assessment and treatment. If they are hard swellings I would worry about cellulitis or scar tissue. If she is eating and acting well and they are not painful, I would not worry as it will go away with time. If it is painful and the appetite is decreasing then I would get it rechecked

They look like hives. She likely was bite by a bug and is experiencing an allergic reaction. I recommend you have her seen by your veterinarian to examine the areas and determine if medications are needed if the hives last longer than 2 hours or if you notice vomiting, diarrhea, facial swelling, or worsening hives.

With the lump in the throat and severe fever he really shuold be seen by a vet - I would be afraid he has an abscess which needs draining in order to prevent it from restricting his breathing. I would also recommend intravenous antibiotics at this stage in order to speed recovery. Another possibility is that this was noted incidentally after a play date and this is actually something unrelated such as due to dental disease or even a growth underneath those tissues. I recommend you keep an eye on it for now. If it is just swelling from a traumatic injury, it may improve on its own. However, it may not improve on its own and need further therapy. If it is something else, it will probably continue to be present or worsen over time. If it does not improve or it worsens in the next week, I highly recommend that you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck!
