My dog was bitten by a bigger dog and has a lump. What should I do?

There is no way of knowing for sure without an examination though this represents a reason to seek veterinary care. This is usually determined with an examination and a fine needle aspirate (FNA) or a biopsy. Treatment depends on the findings up to that point. It could be that Tank has an abscess. This commonly occur after animal bites and are very painful to the dog. He does need to see a vet tomorrow, as if he does have an abscess, it will need to be drained and flushed, and he will need antibiotics to treat it. I hope this helps!

The fact that it was previously known to be benign, does not mean that now it cannot be malignant. If it has gotten bigger, it would be great to sample it again. I recommend you have Lily evaluated by your veterinarian for a test called fine needle aspirate which is an easy, quick and pain-free procedure which in the majority of cases will help reach a diagnosis to identify what the best course of action is based on the findings. In some cases, a biopsy is needed for a diagnosis. If it truly is benign then removal is not necessarily recommended. It is concerning that is has been present for a week, as a bug bite would have likely resolved by now.
