Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | unneutered | 7 years and 1 month old | 77 lbs
Adult golden retriever was feeling a bit down since yesterday (walked less fast than usually, less happy). Today on the morning walk he suddenly cried out and sat down and couldn't walk on his back legs. He was dragging himself over and later started to walk limping. There are no open wounds. What can it be?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This possibly represents disc disease as you point out. Unfortunately, if this is the case and he has lost mobility of his hind limbs, it is crucial to have him evaluated as soon as possible to have any possibility of regaining function. Regardless, these types of issues are usually emergencies as they can cause discomfort and pain and are also challenging to manage at home. I highly recommend that you have Cooper evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and I really hope he can make a full recovery!
