My dog has sudden skin bumps all over his body overnight. What is it?

The cause of the itching needs to be investigated. He could have a mites, fleas, a food allergy, or an allergic reaction to something, especially if the bumps came up suddenly. Diesel should be seen by your vet to determine why he's so itchy and get him started on treatment. Depending on their findings, you vet may recommend medicated baths, sips, antibiotics, or a different food, or some combination of these to fit his needs.

This is probably an allergic reaction due to an insect bite or a plant outside. those reactions tend to resolve within 48 hours without treatment. if the swelling becomes too large or if your dog is lethargic, take her to the vet in order to get an antihistamine injection.

Any bump or mass on a dog should be examined by a veterinarian in person. Your vet can perform an exam and a fine-needle aspirate of the mass - where he/she uses a needle and syringe to sample cells from the mass and look at them under a microscope. The bumps could be an allergic dermatitis from fleas, insect bites, etc. It could also be a bacterial infection, even if you aren't seeing any purulent material. You could bathe him with a dog shampoo, like Epi-soothe, and see if that helps. Otherwise, he should be seen by a vet for treatment. He may need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, corticosteroid, of other medication to help.

I can see small bumps right under the hair on Prince. These can be an allergic reaction, or hives. This can be caused by a number of conditions such as fleas, environmental or food allergies, or a reaction to something in her environment.
