My pitbull has sudden bumps all over her. Is it an allergic reaction?

  Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. These look like hives. This is a common area for fleas so I’d do a flea treatment and then start some Benedryl. Call your vet or shelter for dosing. If they spread, do not decrease in 24 hours, her lips/face swell, she have vomiting or diarrhea, or ANY other concerning signs, you need to get her to the vet immediately, as these could be signs of life-threatening allergic reaction.

  It looks like she might have a skin infection so she should be examined by a vet for treatment. She may need an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory to help clear up the infection and treat the itching. If she has a history of allergies, you could talk to your vet about trying Cytopoint or Apoquel which help control allergies in dogs.

  This is likely to be caused by an allergy but it could be infections or mites as well.
  First of all I would recommend to have him treated with a good quality flea treatment then to have him checked by your veterinarian to rule out infection by physical examination and some skin tests.
  If all comes back negative an allergy must be suspected and treated with appropriate medications depending on the type of allergy.
