Hi my vet has put lily on omeprazole twice daily and rinitidine half twice daily for what she suspects is a sliding hiatus hernia It seems to be helping her as the vomiting and regurgitating have stopped She wants to try and manage it with medicine at this point not surgery yet Is it ok for her to remain on these medicines long term ?

This is a fairly safe drug and if it is benefiting Lily and keeping her vomiting at bay there is no reason she needs to come off it.
I’m glad your veterinarian found a treatment that worked for her! Please let us know if you have additional questions!
