What is this squishy, red, liquid-filled lump on my dog's belly?

It is possible that this is from trauma, maybe her skin there got pinched. Other causes are an insect bite or even a mass. Poor Baby! Due to its dark color and it's changing nature, I would have your vet take a look at it. It could just be a benign blood cyst and nothing to worry about, but it could also be a malignant tumor that needs to be safe. If your vet isn't sure, I would have it surgically removed and sent to the lab for testing to be on the safe side. I hope this helps!

This appears to be a possible pustule (infected small pocket underneath the skin). If just one of these is present and it isn't causing any discomfort, then I would suggest monitoring the area to see if it resolves on its own. You can gently clean the area with a mild soap (ie Dove) and warm water and placing a very thin layer of Neosporin to the bump to see if it goes away. However if it starts to spread or does not resolve within a week or two then a vet visit is needed to get Louie on a short course of antibiotics to get this to heal well. This looks like it could be a cyst or a skin tumor like a hemangioma. I find that once a skin growth ruptures it tends to happen again, so I would definitely recommend making an appointment to see your veterinarian. They will probably recommend surgically removing this growth.

Young dogs get benign tumors called histiocytomas. These usually grow quickly, but the immune system will typically resolve the problem within a month or so. I'm glad to hear that Ivy doesn't seem to be bothered by this lesion, despite how inflamed and irritated it appears. While it's impossible to say definitively what the cause of this lesion is without further diagnostics, I can say that it's possible that this could be an irritated insect bite, or a benign or malignant mass. Given the irregular surface of this lesion, I think a bite/sting is unlikely, but the possibility shouldn't be ignored. Since it's so red and obvious, we have to assume that it popped up pretty quickly since you're just noticing it. As a result, I do think that you should have this checked out by your vet in person in the coming week. After an exam, your vet will likely want to perform a fine needle aspirate, where they'll use a needle to draw out a few cells for microscopic evaluation. That will help them to determine if this is more of an inflammatory/infectious issue rather than a more aggressive lesion. In the meantime, be sure to keep a close eye on Ivy. If she starts to lick this area at all, put an e-collar (cone) on her, as the licking will only cause further irritation. I hope that everything goes well!

That is certainly in the area where the inguinal lymph node lies. The red area there looks like a possible tick bite dermatitis. I would recommend starting with antihistamines and let your vet take a look at this area. If your pet also has a fever, then a course of antibiotics should be considered in case there is an infectious component here. A tick titer may also be considered if your pet is exposed to ticks and not on prevention. I hope that your pet's skin issue resolves soon! Best wishes and take care.
