Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | neutered | 5 years and 8 months old | 27 lbs

Hi my pug has been sneezing one to 2 times a day with white mucus at time greenish been on 3 different antibiotics for 7 days each time has never gotten any better.. The dog is fine eating playing everything normally. Once the mucus is gone its gone untill next time he gets it, it involves both nostrils just only one at a time. What could this be. thank you

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could be due to a foreign body located in the nose for example or possibly a fungal infection or a bacterial infection that requires a longer course of antibiotics. I would encourage you to check in with your veterinarian if this is happening again. Endoscopy may help check for a possible foreign body. Best of luck!
