My dog has a small hard lump on his tail. Is it normal or concerning?

As cysts fill and become larger, they can become uncomfortable. It sounds like you may have attempted to attach a photo to this question but there is nothing here for us to see. If the area is not bothering Coco, I recommend monitoring it for the next few days to see if it changes in size at all. If it remains the same or goes away, this is likely OK. The only way to know exactly what it is, is to have your veterinarian sample cells from this area and examine them under a microscope. I hope this is helpful!

There are a couple of things this could be on Lola. It could be that she hurt her tail at some point in the past, and that is a boney growth from the injury. It could be a benign or malignant tumor as well, although a malignant tumor is unlikely in a young dog. Any suspicious lump should be examined by a vet, and I would have Lola checked out to have the lump diagnosed. The vet can recommend treated if needed.

I am sorry to hear that you are worried about Lilly. Fatty growths and tumors are both possible, but less likely with such a young dog. I would also worry about an abscess for a cyst. Markey is lovely! This lump looks suspicious to me, it could just be an infected wart or cyst but I'm concerned it could be a type if skin tumour. To be safe I would take Marley to the vet and they can test the lumps by sampling with a needle and sending to the lab. If iris a tumour it is better to find out what it is now and then it can be dealt with before it gets bigger.
