Updated on September 23rd, 2025

yesterday, my dog had a friend over and since my dog is so hyper, he played non stop for about four hours, out of breath, all that.thats how he plays, but today, hes real sluggish, not acting himself. Do dogs get sore muscles? hes not limping, dont think he tore anything, and yes he drank lot of water yesterday. Can they get dehydrated? just isnt himself.a litte nervous to see this cause my dog is alway runnning off pure adrenaline.hes a shpard, boxer ,pit mix

Yes, dogs do get sore muscles just like us! It sounds like Auggie might have just overdone it yesterday. If he is eating and drinking normally, and just tired, he is likely just still worn out and sore. If he still seems not himself after 24-48 hours I'd be worried it might be more serious and consider taking him in for a vet visit and potentially some anti-inflammatory pain medication.
