My Golden Doodle has skin issues and nipple discharge. What to do?

The black dots are likely to be blackheads due to fat content in the are. The fact that nipples are producing milk may be due to a false pregnancy which is due to an hormonal imbalance. This problem is usually self limiting but if lasting more than 24 hours a check up would be required as specific medication can be prescribed.

Congratulations on your puppy! It is difficult to tell for certain from a photo, but it looks as though Mollie could have a pustule located adjacent to her nipple and that is what you are seeing. this is a little spot of infection under the skin (like a whitehead pimple in people). This isn't uncommon in puppies (we call it puppy pyoderma) and we often treat with a medicated shampoo or topical antibiotic in mild cases. I would wash the area with a mild soap and apply a triple antibiotic ointment for now and schedule an appointment with the vet to have it looked at to be on the safe side, as I said it is impossible to say for certain from a photo if this is exactly what is going on.

In this case this can be treated at home with some disinfection (hibiscrub diluted with water 1:10 and rubbed gently on the area twice daily) and by discouraging any licking, if any (a buster collar may be needed). No resolution or worsening of the signs in a week time with disinfection requires a check up at your local veterinarian.

A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics may be needed. Other care recommended for the bitch may include hydration, warm compresses using towels or cabbage leaves, and frequent expression of milk from the infected gland by hand. This alleviates discomfort and swelling while also encouraging blood flow. Hand-milking should be performed every six hours. This looks like a mild skin infection/inflammation. I suggest you use these medicated pads on it. If after about a week to 10 days of use, the lesion is not better or looks worse then your vet should examine him. This looks like an area of moist dermatitis, or hot spot. They get these from licking or rubbing an area of skin that was irritated from an insect bite, allergy or injury. To treat this I recommend trimming the fur around the area, then cleaning off the discharge with warm water and antibacterial soap. Once it’s rinsed and dried you can apply a thin film of antibacterial ointment on it. The most important thing is to prevent her from scratching or rubbing this area so it can heal. Use a cone if needed. If it’s not improving then I recommend a veterinary exam and treatment. They may give medication to prevent the itching, and possible a topical spray or ointment to dry up the skin. Hot spots are common in Goldens so I’d have a cone and medication on hand to treat these at home before they get bad. Poor pup! It's possible she has developed an allergy (it could be environmental or food related) or an endocrine disease (like hypothyroidism or cushings disease). It sounds like the lesions are all over and I don't like the fact that her nipples are becoming discolored. I think your best option is to have her examined by the veterinarian. At home you can try giving her an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for pets but it may not correct the underlying cause. This can however improve over all skin health. There are two brands of food, Royal Canin and Nutro, which are aimed at skin health and they may help as well but again, they may not affect the underlying problem. Lastly, bathing her in an oatmeal type pet shampoo can help to condition the skin. This should not be done more than once a week.
