My dog has a worsening skin issue under his legs. What is it?

There are some things that you can do at home if you are unable to get to a vet right away. I would suggest starting with a shampoo that is medicated such as Duoxo chlorhexidine PS combination and bathe him twice weekly until the infection is resolved. I would also suggest starting welactin omega-3 fish oil and essential 6 Spot On by dermoscent. If there is no improvement then I would see your vet for further testing and treatments. I would have this examined by a veterinarian in order to determine what this could be by testing this further. Pete will likely require oral antibiotics and topical treatment for appropriate therapy. This could also be a skin infection. I would recommend using a product called Sentry Wound Ointment from PetCo and apply to the area until resolved. If there is no improvement or the skin condition worsens I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. It is hard to say for sure without pictures being unable to examine him. I would recommend a chlorhexidine based shampoo such as Douxo PS chlorhexidine combination shampoo and bathe twice weekly until the infection is resolved. A spray such as malacetic conditioning spray should also be used and applied to the affected area 2-3 times daily until resolved. These can be found online quite easily and if you are unable to get these delivered to your area, something comparable should suffice. Now, whether or not the skin infection is due to skin parasites, bacteria or Yeast is difficult for me to say by looking at the pictures. I would suggest having a veterinarian examine him in order to get a diagnosis for the most appropriate treatment. Treatment will likely consist of antibiotics, antifungal drugs and topical therapy. If you are unable to get to the veterinarian right away, I would suggest starting a medicated shampoo such as Duoxo chlorhexidine PS combination and bathe twice weekly until the infection is resolved. The first picture of the brown legs looks very suspicious of possibly mites to me, especially if he is itchy. The other 2 pictures looks ok like they might just be an elbow callous and I am less worried about that. Regardless, I would encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian soon.
