My dog has a bump on his skin. Is it a wart or should I be concerned?

This looks like a mass. It looks quite benign such as a wart or skin tag, however it is impossible to know for sure without testing the lump. You could have the lump tested/removed or simply monitor it for changes. I wouldn't be overly concerned about it.

Luckily no, this is a wart which is a benign skin growth. Many dogs get warts as they age and they are nothing to be overly concerned about unless they get very large or are in a location to be cut when dogs are getting groomed. Hi there! From the photo the mass does appear to be a benign papilloma (wart). That being said, it is not easy to tell 100% from a photo. I would still recommend you take Jack to your vet for an exam just to be on the safe side. I do not think it's an emergency situation. This is likely a harmless wart, especially since it has not changed in size or shape for many months. Continue monitoring it and if it changes in shape, size or color have your veterinarian examine it. Your vet may then want to do a fine needle aspirate (he takes some material from the bump with a needle and then looks at it under the microscope) to determine whether the mass is concerning.

It could be a cyst, a wart, or some other benign or malignant growth. The only way to know for certain what a bump is is to take a sample of cells with a needle or biopsy for examination under a microscope. If it seems to bother your dog or appears to be growing rapidly, be sure to have this lesion checked out in the next week or two. Otherwise, if your dog isn't bothered and the lesion doesn't seem to be changing much, I would recommend having it checked out by a vet in the next couple of months.

Hello. I am sorry that Niko has this lump. This could be something called a sebaceous cysts, could be a scar, could be a wart, or could be something more scary like a tumor. Without removing it and sending for histopathology you can't know for sure, but if it isn't growing, bleeding, or causing any issues you can also just keep an eye on it and have it seen if any changes occur. I am sorry to hear about your concern for Kato! This area could be the result of a variety of things, such as an insect bite, a wound that has becomes infected, an ingrown hair/area of folliculitis, and more. If Kato is acting normally otherwise, you can try cleaning the area with a mild soap and applying a topical antibiotic like neosporin to the area. If it is enlarging in size, if it starts to have a green or yellow discharge, if it isn't getting smaller over a few days, or if Kato starts having lethargy, decreased appetite, pain, or other lesions arise then a trip to the vet is recommended.
