Can my dog get sick from licking paws after walking on yard moss?

Sawyer may develop a bit of diarrhea and/or vomiting but it should resolve quickly. You can buy protective booties to use on walks or you can use a paw cream such as Musher's Secret. It is a safe cream for pets and works great. You can order it online or buy it at most pet stores.

That is just terrible! As far as I'm aware, there is no dog poison that will soak into their feet and kill them. Washing Noir's feet is a good idea, and to be safe, I'd take her into the vet to have her checked out. Best of luck.

As long as it is a water based paint and you have washed the area of thoroughly I don't suspect that there will be any problem. Certainly you should make any attempt to prevent her from trying to lick the area in the meantime in case anything residual that could be on there. You might consider either obtaining an ecollar from a vet or pet store or watching a YouTube video on how to make a homemade one. Without seeing the ingredients on the paint I can't be one hundred percent sure that it is completely non-harmful. You could consider calling the pet poison helpline if you are becoming concerned about any possible ingestion then they will be able to go over the possible effects of the substance that is being eaten. I don't have a definitive answer, but certainly if there was moss in the vomit on Tuesday I would be concerned that Thunder had ingested some type of plant that is making him sick at this point. He sounds mildly inappetant - with missing only breakfast - which is a bit worrisome, but it's the muscle twitching that's really bothering me. I would be concerned that he could have ingested a plant that's neurotoxic (i.e. affects the nervous system) and the spasms are caused by that. Hopefully it's not too serious, but the fact that the symptoms started more than 48 hours ago and are not getting better would make me want to get this checked out ASAP. Poisonous plants can can liver damage, and even though the liver will repair itself patients often need supportive care - such as IV fluids - in order to get back to normal. I'd recommend getting him checked today, running some blood work, and considering a brief period of hospitalization to get him back to normal.

I'm assuming Amy is a dog. Dogs will eat things like this when they are feeling nauseous, aren't getting enough to eat, or have a nutritional deficiency. Given that this is a new behavior, I would be suspicious that she is feeling nauseous, but she should have a heath check done by a vet to be sure. I would be careful about her eating those things, as moss can cause GI irritation and twigs can cause an obstruction and trauma to her GI tract.

I am sorry to hear about Clyde's problems. I would definitely recommend having a further workup done by your vet. The discoloration of the toe nails is often seen with a yeast overgrowth in the nail bed which requires prescription medication to treat. We can also have bacterial infection in this location. The sores may also be a result of infection and often an allergy is at the root of the issue- either to something in the environement such as grass or pollen, or a food ingredient. Since your dog is also vomiting you might consult your vet on whether a diet change might be appropriate along with cytology of the toenail beds and lesions to check for infection.

That red bump in between the toes is suspicious for a grassawn/foxtail. I suggest you have her examined by your vet (not an emergency). In the meantime, you can try soaking the foot in warm Epsom salt water (10 minutes 3 times per day) to hopefully draw out any foxtail that may be under the skin.
