My dog is shivering, sleeping, and not eating. What should I do?

Yes, I would be worried about Amelia. Dogs have a higher temperature than humans normally, so she may not have a fever. She could be in pain causing the shivering and not eating. I see that she isn't spayed, and she could be suffering from a pyometra. This is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment, and will cause pain and a lack of appetite. It could also be she injured herself, but without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain. Because I can't rule out a pyometra and the fact that it's very serious, I think it's best you take her into a vet immediately. If she does have a pyometra, spaying her is part of the recommended treatment. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Unfortunately, these are very vague symptoms that could be caused by almost any kind of medical problem - shaking, acting lethargic, and not eating are generally signs of pain or discomfort, but beyond that he would need an exam and some diagnostic testing to determine what's wrong. I would recommend taking him to the vet today to be seen. He/she can do blood work, x-rays, or other testing if needed to help diagnose the problem.

Poor Brownie! The good news is that his nose being cold and wet is not a sign of illness in dogs. A dog's nose can go from cold and wet to warm and dry simply by lying in the sun or next to a heat source. It is concerning, however, that he is not eating or drinking, and is shaking and laying around. It is serious when a dog won't drink water, and I would have Brownie seen by a vet right away. This not eating and drinking could be caused by a systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. He could be shaking because he has a fever. The vet can diagnose what is causing his symptoms, and can treat him for them. I would take him into a vet right away.

It could still be pain associated with a leg even if nothing seems wrong with them. I recommend that you have Pari evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics include radiographs. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least they can prescribe pain control medications to make Pari feel better. A lot of terriers tend to shake and most of the time this is normal for them. However shivering can point to Prince being in pain, experiencing fear, a nervous condition, or fever or feeling cold. If this is a new occurrence and Prince does not stop shaking or shivering you should take him to a veterinarian for an exam.

Poor Broeski doesn't sound like he feels well! His anorexia could be due to things such as dental disease, systemic illness, infection, or injury. The shaking could be due to pain or fever. If he's still acting this way in the morning, I'd take him into the vet to get checked out. I hope this helps!
