What dog shampoo is best for a healthy coat and skin problems?

Oatmeal shampoo is a great shampoo for dogs. I would recommend using this. I don't know what type of breed she is but this shampoo is good for any breed. I recommend giving a fatty acid skin supplement orally to help keep her skin healthy and coat shiny. Fish oil orally will work also. I do not use anything on the skin itself usually unless it's very dry and flaky, then I use a moisturizing grooming spray after a bath with a hypo allergenic shampoo. I use different shampoos depending on the coat. If he’s a GSD with oily skin I use an anti seborrhea shampoo. If his skin is dry or itchy I use a mild hypoallergenic shampoo. If he’s had skin infections I recommend a medicated shampoo. I often have several shampoos around and adjust them depending on his coat condition at the time of bathing. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The diet I prefer for this is the one made by Science Diet called sensitive skin and stomach diet. However, what I have found the most helpful in reestablishing a nice shiny coat is using fish oil daily. You can get the commercial ones sold online or at your local pet store. This works great. Use a pet shampoo that is oatmeal based. if you can find the accompanying conditioner, this would help as well. also, start Coco on an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this will help improve the skin's health. Please feel free to post any additional questions.

If you are simply trying to create a health coat and skin quality, I would recommend the use of fish oil capsules.
