Why is my dog shaking and acting wobbly for 5-10 minutes daily?

My dog is shaking really bad and acting like he's drunk once a day for about 5-10 mins. it's happened the same time for the last two days

Hi, sorry to hear Andre is not feeling well. This can be a seizure or a syncopal event, where the heart is not performing how it should be. Syncope is more often seen as fainting or loosing all their energy quickly, then they feel normal again. A seizure can look like shaking, with a post ictal event where he may act like he is off balance and unsure of his surroundings. I suggest taking him to a vet to have his heart checked and blood work to see how his organs are functioning. If possible, video the episode so you can show the vet. He or she may want a neurologist's opinion on this as well. Once you catch it on video, take him and it to the vet. Good luck, I hope this helps!.

I would recommend seeing a veterinarian especially if Tullamore is still walking abnormally. Low blood sugar, anemia or liver disease can cause similar signs but usually they would be persistent.

That sounds concerning for something like a seizure or a cardiac arrhythmia. Both would cause Romy to lose control of his body and then still be off for a few minutes afterwards. I recommend to make an appointment to have him checked. The doctor will need to run bloodwork and an EKG to look for potential causes. Poor Phiilix ! I am really worried about him. This could be several things like a toxin, seizures, heart problems, liver or kidney disease, and much more. I would have your vet take a look at him as soon as possible. If you have an episode on video this could be helpful for your vet but not a requirement. Your vet may want to do blood work. They will be able to determine the cause and get him started on the proper meds to help him feel better and hopefully stop these weird episodes. I hope this helps!

I am sorry to hear that Preston isn’t feeling well. At such a young age this concerns Me about the possibility of intoxication. If there is any chance he could have ingested a prescription or recreational medication then he should be evaluated by a veterinarian immediately. I also worry about a possibility of infection such as distemper virus, or other neurologic abnormalities. My dog is suddenly shaking, coughing, and growling. What's happening?

Tux is a handsome boy. With the shaking, I would be worried about a focal seizure. Try to record the next episode if he has one so the vet can see. Also, if you see if again, try to determine his level of responsiveness while it is going on. With a seizure, they are typically non responsive or dazed. Dogs can also develop weird behaviors as well so this is not excluded. I would also recommend to take him into the vet for bloodwork to make sure his liver is normal as seizures can results with liver disease. I hope this helps!

Hello, thank you for your question. These symptoms could be indicative of many different underlying problems. Shivering/shaking can be a sign of pain in dogs. Alternatively, it is possible that your dog is having a seizure like event. If he is otherwise acting normal and these events are infrequent you could continue to monitor him. Alternatively, if you are concerned you could have him evaluated by your veterinarian. They will examine him and look for any sources of pain. It might be helpful to try and video one of these events if it happens again, since this could help your veterinarian exactly what is going on. Hope this helps!
