My dog is shaking after surgery. Why is he shivering when he breathes?

Abdominal surgery is a serious surgery, especially when infection is involved. So sleeping a lot would be normal and one way of healing. The shivering and panting is likely caused by pain, so make sure she takes her pain medicine on time. Best let her rest. She may not be hungry today, which is okay. Make sure she has fresh water available. She should be a lot better tomorrow.

This can be normal after a surgery. You can gently place a cold compress around his neck which will reduce the pain and inflammation. As long as he's eating and drinking he will be fine. It's possible she has injured her back. many times there will not be any signs on a physical exam until the injury happens. Certainly an injury to the joints of the leg are also possible. I recommend to try to get her examined as soon as you can. A back injury can become chronic and serious in nature (just like humans). Be up front with the doctor about your cost concerns. Until you have her examined, she needs exercise restriction so NO running, jumping, going for walks, stairs or getting on the furniture. From your description it sounds like she is in pain. By now, Thursday this should have gotten much less (not knowing what surgery she underwent I cannot give you an exact time frame). By now she should also eat again. You should take her back to the vet for a recheck, as this is not normal and she would at least need more pain medicine to make her more comfortable.

It can be painful to get vaccines and smaller breed dogs can act more painful than they really are! Sometimes, to be honest, they can be a bit of drama queens. You should what it's like to trim a pug's nails lol. You'd think you are killing them with all the noise they make! IT could indeed be due to pain, the pain injection lasts for 24 hours, usually vets do give pain killers to take home for a couple days, if you think he is in too much pain you can request those from your vet. there is nothing you can give it at home as human pain killers are toxic to dogs.

The wound looks perfect. Sonetimes they shake because of the after egfects of aneasthetic, but strong pain killers such as tramadol can make dogs feel strange. I would suggest stopping the tramadol now and see how she gets on.
